Kheyti is solving one of the most critical challenges in agriculture today—how to help smallholder farmers adapt to climate change while improving yields and incomes. Their flagship solution, the ‘Greenhouse-in-a-Box,’ is a modular, affordable, and water-efficient innovation that uses 90% less water and grows nearly seven times more food than conventional methods. And it does so at half the cost of a traditional greenhouse.
Sharpening Strategy with Scale-Up
By 2023, Kheyti had proven the impact of its innovation and was ready to scale. As part of Scale-Up, Marico Innovation Foundation’s no-equity accelerator, Kheyti received bespoke mentorship that helped strengthen its market presence and deepen farmer engagement.
The Scale-Up mentor and team offered strategic support in several areas, including:
- Co-developing a refreshed brand concept note, refining collaterals like pamphlets and hoardings and clarifying visual elements and short messaging.
- Recommending community-led outreach by engaging farmers as ‘influencers’ to build trust among peer groups.
- Advising on video-based communication to explain benefits clearly and drive conversion, along with suggestions on ad targeting and campaign structuring.
- Proposing a structured quarterly campaign calendar to maintain visibility and consistency.
- Evaluating different call centre models to streamline lead management and farmer support.
- Recommending the use of QR codes in wall paintings across model farms to increase footfall and information access.
- Supporting a multi-channel marketing approach focused on cost-effectiveness and long-term engagement.
From Insight to Impact
Building on the set of guidelines offered by MIF’s bespoke mentorship helmed by Akshata Swaroop, Kheyti took these recommendations forward with agility and intention. The Mitra Program—where trained farmers act as brand ambassadors—now contributes nearly 40% of all lead generation. Video-based formats have led to a 150% higher response rate than text alone, enabling stronger farmer engagement.
The business outcomes followed. Between Q3 and Q4, revenue grew by 157%, supported by more structured mid-funnel marketing and partnerships like the one with Fateh Call Centre that improved lead management.
Scaling with Intention
Kheyti’s journey reflects what’s possible when sharp execution meets the right kind of support. With a clear product-market fit and refined outreach, the startup is poised to scale impact sustainably—one greenhouse at a time.
