Scale-Up is Marico Innovation Foundation’s flagship no-equity rapid acceleration program offering bespoke, deep-rooted mentorship to for-profit startups on their INR 1-100 crore annual revenue growth journeys. The program focusses on innovations across the sectors of plastic waste management, clean technology, and agri-technology.

Over 100 mentors and experts from Marico and the wider Indian industry work with founders across procurement, sales, marketing, finance, manufacturing, people management, and other domains to unlock radical growth and create self-sustainable paths for large-scale impact in India.

We are founder-first and committed to impact. MIF takes zero equity from the Scale-Up portfolio members. Because we are singularly committed to revolutionising innovations for impact, we go beyond capital to de-risk and scale disruptive early-stage startups.
At Scale-Up, we ensure startups get sustained backing that goes beyond initial hurdles and triumphs. Cohort members #ScaleUpWithMIF for 3-5 years on average or until they achieve the coveted INR 100 crores annual revenue milestone—with a dedicated portfolio manager supporting them throughout the journey.
At Scale-Up, mentors and functional experts from Marico and the larger Indian industry are thoughtfully curated and matched with founders. Together, they identify functional and strategic growth obstacles and craft bespoke solutions. With the help of tools and frameworks, mentors help to hack, go-to-market strategies, manufacturing capacity, marketing, finance, sales, culture, and anything else that may be hindering a startup's growth and potential to create large-scale impact.
Functional mentors provide hands-on day-to-day support and review progress (including on the factory floor!) as founders implement new strategies to problem-solve, diversify, pivot, or adapt as they scale up.
Scale-Up provides founders a scaffolded sandbox for growth. Outside the box, startup founders gain lifetime access to MIF’s vast network of mentors, experts, leaders, industry stalwarts, funders, and other members of Scale-Up’s various cohorts, including connections to relevant corporates for business opportunities.
Stewardship of the accelerator rests in the hands of Mentorship Councils – a group of seasoned professionals and industry stalwarts who bring to the table decades of experience and expertise in their respective fields. These Councils guide Scale-Up cohorts on strategic and functional matters with deep, multi-year mentorship.
We are de-risking and helping scale innovative startups in plastic waste management, clean technology, and agriculture-technology sectors. While these are now our thematic areas of focus, we have, in the past, also mentored organisations in healthcare, development and other sectors.
