1. The MIF Awards is a biennial event of The Marico Innovation Foundation (”the Organiser”) to recognize the greatest innovations to come out of India in the recent past – innovations that have positively impacted our lives and have at their core a great idea coupled with a unique insight.
  2. The MIF Awards 2018 will be held on February 23, 2018 (the “Event”).
  3. The entries for MIF Awards is open for any individual being Citizen of India, corporate, Government Body/Institutions, Corporate Foundations, for profit and not for profit social organisations situated in India.
  4. The application will be available online in website www.maricoinnovationfoundation.com  between 01st July, 2017 to 31st August, 2017.
  5. The applications should be duly filled and submitted on or before 31st August, 2017 or such date that is specified by the organiser.
  6. Only online applications will be accepted for the Awards.
  7. There are no application fees for participation in the Award.
  8. Participation for the MIF Awards is optional and submission of the Application Form does not create any right or guarantee that the Applicant will be shortlisted by the Jury or will win the Award.
  9. All applications must be a truthful representation of the Applicant and his or her business venture, and must fulfil the following eligibility criteria.
    1. The innovation needs to be beyond the prototype stage.  This means that the idea should have some proof of concept and sales. It should not be only in an idea form. The innovation should have exhibited results within the last 7 years. All innovations that have been implemented after 2010 are eligible.
    2. The innovation may be the work of one person, a few people, a large team, or a department.
    3. The innovation shall not breach any Intellectual Property Rights of any third party. Intellectual property Rights here means Patents, Trademarks and Copyrights owned by third party.
  10. By submitting the Application Form online, the Applicant represents and warrants that the applicant is the owner of the Innovation that no other party has any rights to the Innovation and the Applicant has all rights necessary to represent the Innovation of the Organisation/group. If it is proved to be otherwise, the entry or subsequent award will be disqualified. All the Applications will be treated in the strictest confidence and will not be shared with any third party except to facilitate judging of entries. The applicant  further confirms that the Entry submitted by them does not infringe any third party rights (including intellectual property and privacy rights)
  11. Any individual submitting his/her work through the website form cannot use false contact information details or identifying details, impersonating any person in order to mislead the awards jury.
  12. The Organiser in consultation with their Knowledge Partners for the Event – AT Kearney will evaluate the applications and shortlist them for submission to the jury of Organiser
  13. The Jury as appointed by the Organiser (MIF) will evaluate the applications on the basis of the Uniqueness, Impact, Potential to scale and Practicality of the Innovation and select the winners.
  14. The jury’s decision is final and binding and no correspondence or complaint at any stage will be entertained.
  15. Participants CANNOT publicise that their work has been selected/pre-selected until the end of the Event.
  16. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel/ modify/ extend/ discontinue the Awards without reasons or prior notice. Solicitation and unfair practices at any stage of participation will lead to disqualification.
  17. All Applicants agree to be bound by the decisions of the Jury and hereby voluntarily waive their rights to raise any dispute regarding the Winners of the Award.
  18. No correspondence, telephone, email or communication of any kind will be entertained in relation to the decision of the Jury or the Organiser.
  19. The Applicant indemnifies, and agrees to keep indemnified, the Organiser, the Knowledge Partners, its employees, officers, contractors, partner or other persons used by them in relation to these Awards  and the Jury for any claims arising out of any material, statements or claims made as part of their Application or breach of any Intellectual property Rights of third party. The Applicant shall defend them against any loss, claim, demands, costs, damages, judgments, expenses or liability arising out of or in connection with any or all claims whether or not groundless, that may be brought against the Organiser and all persons mentioned above by any third party in connection with participation in or winning the Award.
  20. Applications cannot be completed unless the mandatory fields are filled. The person named on the Application form will be deemed as the point of contact for the Applicant by the Organiser. Any change in the details of the contact person of the Applicant should be promptly informed in writing at mif@marico.com . Failure to do so shall lead to the entry being disqualified. Applicant waives conditions of DND by submitting the Application Form.
  21. Shortlisted applicants may be required to provide additional information upon request from the Organiser or the Knowledge Partners of the Event, within stipulated timelines. Failure to comply will lead to the application being disqualified.
  22. The Applicant agrees that if their Application is shortlisted for an Award, they will send a representative to attend the Event to accept the Award. If the Applicant wins an Award, the Applicant grants permission to the Organiser to use any photographs, video, short AVs, audio files, written or other material for the MIF Awards without restriction.
  23. Any term or condition mentioned herein, including but not restricted to the timelines, may be cancelled, modified, extended or withdrawn by the Organiser at its sole and absolute discretion and without assigning any reason.
  24. The Organiser reserves the right to change any process, evaluator or jury member at its discretion and without any prior notice or providing any reason for the same.
  25. The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify the applicant if they have reasonable grounds to believe that the applicant has breached any of the Rules.
  26. The Organiser may also, in appropriate circumstances, and at its sole discretion, reject, edit, remove or disable access to Entries that appear to be legally or otherwise problematic e.g. infringe the copyright or other intellectual property or privacy rights of others, are defamatory etc. or for any other reason.
  27. The aforementioned rules and regulations will be subject to the laws of India. Disputes, if any, are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction in the courts of Mumbai.
  28. Any application once submitted will be considered as full and final. Any additional amendments, comments or modifications post submission of the application form will not be considered.
  29. All the intellectual property with respect to the Event lies with the Organiser. MIF is supported by the partners as published on this website. All rights reserved. By submitting the Application Form, the Applicant accepts to the above mentioned Terms and Conditions.
  30. The Organiser is not responsible for:
    1. any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by your entry into the Competition or as a result of accepting one of the prizes;
    2. any loss or damage that is not reasonably foreseeable; or
    3. any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer systems relating to their participation in the Award.
  31. The participants shall be responsible for their own safety while at the Award function and Organiser shall not be liable at any cost for any accident, injury etc., while being at the award function.
  32. By submitting the application form, the applicant grants an exclusive permission to Organisers, its Contractors, service provider to use the applicants name, their image and the work submitted so that the organisers may use it in producing and marketing the Awards. The applicant will be given full credit wherever possible. Example usages include articles in newspapers / magazines / websites / social media posts / blogs / the showcase section of our website; printed materials at MIF Awards ceremonies; prints at exhibitions specifically related to the awards;  projected and on-screen visuals at our ceremonies; videos and photos displaying winners; case studies, books and presentations related to these awards.
  33. By submitting the application form the applicant hereby grants the right to organiser, its contractors and service provider to publish any personal details regarding the applicant with regard to this Award and it shall not be considered as breach of Privacy rights. Your privacy rights will be governed as per the privacy policy mentioned on the website.
