‘Innovation Workshop for Social Enterprises’
Mumbai & Bangalore

To extend the Marico Innovation Foundation’s catalytic approach towards Innovation, it organised two ‘Innovation Workshop for Social Enterprises’ in Mumbai and Bangalore in August and October 2010. The purpose of these workshops was to enable social organizations to apply Innovation as a key tool to significantly increase their social impact and scale programs. The 3-day workshops focussed on innovation tools, knowledge sharing from successful case studies, addressing primary challenges in applying innovation and helping social enterprises identify and put together an innovative roadmap to scale up and create greater impact. Innovation Alchemy was the knowledge partner who conducted these Workshops.

The Mumbai and Bangalore workshops were attended by 7 and 10 social enterprises respectively. Each of these organisations was represented by 2-3 core team members at the workshop. The invited Practitioners who shared key learning, experiences and the basic fundamental process of instituting Innovation at the Mumbai and Bangalore Workshops were:

The last day of the Mumbai workshop was immensely action oriented; where the participants were facilitated through a deep dive study to embed innovation into the DNA of their organisations. A practical methodology and process of rebuilding organization structure to implement Innovation into its various fields and departments. The last day of the Bangalore workshop had the participants break into their teams and working together to identify their teams Innovation challenge, Insight Sources and Prototype approach.

On the basis of evaluation parameters two organisations were selected for incubation of the scale up challenge through innovation.
