Innovation Awards

The Innovation for India Awards by MIF was incepted in 2006 to recognize the greatest innovations within the Indian business and social sectors.

The Innovation Awards by MIF is one of the largest platforms in India for recognizing and showcasing the best of Indian innovation– across private, public and social enterprises.

The Philosophy

  • Provide formal recognition to a company, organisation or government body that has been successful in introducing an innovation.
  • Create awareness around breakthrough innovations that have been successfully implemented to inspire others and provide a forum for networking and learning

Selection Process

The selection process takes place in 6 stages:

Invitation of applications

Applications to be submitted through the online application form.

Screening

  • The applications are gauged on 3 important parameters which form the pillars of assessment for all applications:

    • Uniqueness
    • Impact
    • Sustainability

    Each application will be reviewed objectively by two reviewers by using the defined evaluation criteria. The reviewers will assign average rating scores basis which application will be shortlisted.

Jury (phase 1)

An eminent jury consisting of eminent business and social leaders will review the top entries to further shortlist potential candidates. The juries for business and social categories are distinct.

Follow-up verification

A detailed verification will be conducted to receive answers to any queries raised by the jury in Phase 1

In-context audit

  • A first-hand audit will be conducted to validate the innovations selected in the Jury Phase 1

  • The Knowledge Partner will visit the locations where the innovation has been deployed and/or conduct interviews with the beneficiaries of the innovation to gauge the deployment and impact of the innovation

  • Nominees may be requested to answer certain queries for better understanding the innovation keeping in mind the parameters of Uniqueness, Impact and Sustainability

Jury (phase 2)

The jury meets for the second time. They will review the cases of the shortlisted innovations and will select the winners in each category, using the defined evaluation framework.
