| Eligibility Criteria |
|
To be eligible for the 2012 Innovation for India awards:
The innovation should have been in existence for at least 2 years and not more than 5 years. Innovations in existence for less than 2 years can also apply, provided the innovation has demonstrated reasonable impact since inception. |
|
The innovation must be from an organization or a department/team within an organization. Individuals are not eligible to apply. |
|
No third party consultants should have been involved in creating the innovation. |
|
Consultants may enter work they have done for clients provided a statement from the client is submitted agreeing to be interviewed for the in-context audit and to be featured in the relevant publications if the entry wins. |

Uniqueness: How different and one-of-its-kind is the innovation? |
|
Is the innovation significantly different from other products / processes / models that already exist in the market? |

|
Impact: What significant effect has this innovation already created?
|
| |
Measures output in the form of economic (monetary), social and/or environmental impact. |
| |
|
Sustainability: Is it likely that the innovation will endure for a long period of time? |

Transparency : A transparent recognition process ensuring clarity and understanding by all the stakeholders. The process is clear, unambiguous and public. |

Quality : Quality is a key principal to ensure that the award recognition process is valued, relevant, reliable and rigorous.

Consistency : The process is consistent in meeting the objectives of the Innovation for India Awards. |
| |
Fairness : The applications are screened by an external knowledge partner and the final awardees are selected by an unbiased jury.
